Since 1918
Chëcz means cottage
“Chëcz” is Kashubian for a cottage. Ours stands on Wiejska — the oldest street of Hel’s old fishing village — and the plaque on the brick wall says it plainly: “Fisherman’s cottage from 1918, Wiejska 107”.
Inside: brick, dark timber, old photographs on the walls and crochet lace on every table. In summer we sit in the garden under string lights; in autumn the doorway disappears under red leaves.
